“I’m proud to endorse Luther Ranheim for the 12th Ward Council Seat. Luther and I went to South High together in the early 90s. We grew up in the 3rd Police Precinct area. Building a new, positive relationship between police and community, begins with rebuilding the place where police can interact with the community. As Hennepin County Sheriff, I need reliable and trustworthy partners on the City Council who are going to help shape a comprehensive and accountable public safety system in Minneapolis and Hennepin County. Public safety includes law enforcement -- Luther understands that reality and I am excited to support him."

“Luther Ranheim will be a pragmatic progressive who will listen to all voices in Ward 12, not just the loudest ones. He is the candidate that can be trusted to support common-sense policy on public safety and the 3rd Police Precinct. And he understands that delivering excellent city services and achieving change requires collaboration and an honest approach. I know how hard Luther will work to deliver on those values for Ward 12, which is why I'm proud to endorse him.”

“Stewarding our City’s finances is a critical need for the public trust. Luther Ranheim brings a depth of experience to our city’s governance. His hands-on work with community not-for-profits, foundation giving, and philanthropies will be a valuable resource. Aligned with his deep roots in our city and his ward, his aspirations for stabilizing our neighborhoods through economic security and safety, shelter and transit as well as addressing climate change are noble credentials.”

“I support Luther for Ward 12 because it's clear that he has a deep desire to serve his community. In getting to know Luther, I believe he will listen and learn from his constituents and be an effective advocate for their priorities and for all of Minneapolis. With his deep roots in our city, he knows how important our local government structures are and I'm confident he will work as well across organizations as he will inside of City Hall.”

"I'm supporting Luther because he is a long time resident of Ward 12 and South Minneapolis. He is a community leader who is active in many issues important to our neighborhood. Luther is a pragmatic leader that listens to and respects all voices and perspectives. I'm confident that Luther will listen with intention, incorporate constituent concerns into real policy, and approach every issue with care. These attributes make Luther my choice to represent Ward 12 and our City.”

"Luther Ranheim knows our community, and the many neighborhoods we live in. He understands that people need the basics taken care of: like a renewed focus on road quality, plus planning and advocating for changes needed to our water system due to climate change. Luther also understands that Senior citizens who live in Ward 12 want their specific needs met at City Hall. Luther as a Council Member will take Senior issues seriously. I look forward to having Luther represent me on the Council."

"Most of us have lost confidence in the current Minneapolis City Council and its ill-thought out schemes like defunding the police and the 2040 plan; both were struck down by the courts. Meanwhile, the Council has been silent about  carjackings and potholes. Luther Ranheim will restore community confidence by using foresight and Minnesota common sense to address little and big livability issues in the 12th ward.  Minneapolis cannot afford to continue down the misguided paths it has been on. Elect Luther Ranheim."

"I'm proud to endorse Luther Ranheim because I know that he has the work and life experience to serve on the City Council at a critical time for our city. Having served as a Hennepin County Commissioner  for nearly 3 decades, I know what it takes to collaborate with Minneapolis leadership to get things done. Luther has the right temperament, experience and principles to help Ward 12 and Minneapolis become a better place for all of its residents"

"Luther Ranheim is the best candidate to serve us as 12th Ward Council Member.  As a former Mpls City Council Member, City Coordinator and University of Minnesota Vice President, I know what it takes to operate large enterprises. Luther has the work and life experience to oversee a City budget of $1.8B. He will collaborate with the Mayor and Council colleagues to make our city work for all of us.  Join me in voting for Luther Ranheim as our next 12th Ward Council Member."

“I support Luther Ranheim to be our next 12th Ward City Council member. For the past 40 years, I have lived in the 12th ward and have consistently supported progressive DFL candidates especially those with deep roots in the community like Luther. As a past Senate District DFL Chair for the area, I respect the party process but also know it can go awry. We need a progressive leader who has both a heart and a brain to set the course for the future while maintaining the strength of our single-family neighborhoods and providing essential services without pricing us out of our homes.”

"We’ve known Luther for over 20 years. He is a great neighbor, he actively brings his neighbors together and is always there for us, helping out when we need it and when issues come up for the neighborhood. Luther will listen to the community and advocate for our needs at City Hall.”

— Paula Hill and Jones Olbekson // Howe residents

“We moved to Longfellow in the summer of 2016. Luther and Michelle welcomed us into the neighborhood immediately and made us feel at home and included, as they do with everyone they meet. Luther’s kindness, progressive, and pragmatic approach to everything, including politics, is one of the many reasons that we were so happy to hear he is willing to continue to serve the public on the Minneapolis City Council. Our city and all of the great people that make Minneapolis an amazing place to live need Luther’s leadership and teamwork.”

— Liz Kunkel and Jon Ebeling // Howe residents

“I very much concur with Luther’s position on snow shoveling in the city of Minneapolis. We need to enlist the citizens to get the job done and mobilize youth to help those who can't shovel snow and do it at a much lower cost. Most homeowners are already satisfying their responsibility.”

— Dr. Gordon Everest, Prof. Emeritus, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota // Ericsson Resident

“Luther Ranheim has a solid presence in Ward 12. He has been a community activist and homeowner here for 20 years. I value his maturity and his stances on progressive issues that matter to me. I will vote for Luther because I believe that he will represent ALL of us on the City Council".”

— Elaine Kirk // Becketwood Cooperative Resident

“I’ve been impressed with Luther’s depth of knowledge on how public policy impacts all citizens of Minneapolis and by his clear passion for helping our community thrive.”
— Allan Johnson // Morris Park resident
